After taking a 6-0 lead early in the second half, Eintracht Frankfurt defeated Borussia Mönchengladbach 6-4 on the road thanks to a devastating first half performance. Robin Koch of Frankfurt broke the impasse after ten minutes, but Gladbach was powerless to stop Ansgar Knauff, Jonathan Burkardt, Fares Chaibi, and Can Uzun from scoring further goals before halftime.
Koch scored again just after halftime, marking the defender's first two-goal performance in a Bundesliga match. However, Gladbach was able to respond thanks to Frankfurt's growing confidence. Haris Tabaković and Yannik Engelhardt also scored, while American defender Joe Scally set up Grant-Leon Ranos for the fourth goal in the ninth minute of stoppage time.
