Japanese footballer Kazuyoshi Miura wants to continue playing until age 60

Japanese football 'star' Kazuyoshi Miura will continue playing for a fourth division club in Japan when he is about to turn 55, the Japanese press announced.

‘King Kazu’ is training in Osaka and hopes to play until the age of 60, a wish he may well fulfill as he is expected to join Suzuka Point Getters, a Japanese League club (JFL) that is led by his older brother.

The Japanese footballer, who turns 55 on February 26, has precisely 55 goals for Japan, in 89 caps.

“The team is almost 100% in agreement with my wishes. I have the same passion for football,” Miura told the local press at the beginning of December 2021.

Last year, the Japanese striker broke his record as the oldest footballer playing in Japan's J-League for Yokohama FC, but he played just one minute and the team finished bottom of the league.
