A member of La Liga champion Barcelona's summer recruitment list received a lot of online plaudits. The player? García, Joan. For his part, goalie Joan was given the opportunity to play in Barcelona colours for the first time this evening. The Blaugrana got things off with a friendly match against Vissel Kobe after travelling to Japan for the first leg of their preseason tour of Asia.
Joan, who was previously noted, started the game wearing his new number one jersey. And as previously mentioned, throughout his 45-minute stay, the 24-year-old made a generally good impression on the supporters of his new team. En route to an eventual 3-1 victory, Joan showed off his stellar reflexes on more than one occasion. This came by way of a number of impressive saves. The Barca faithful, in turn, have since moved to lavish praise on their side’s summer addition, with Joan having been labelled a ‘beast’ online.
