John Boye signs with FC Metz

Ghanaian defender John Boye has joined French Ligue 2 side FC Metz after leaving Turkish side Sivasspor at the end of his contract.

He signed a two-year deal, committing his future with the French second tier side until June 2020.

He played for Heart of Lions in the Ghana premier League before joining Hexagon and Stade Rennais, first as a reserve team and then with professionals. In four seasons in the first team, he played 74 games in all competitions.

He met a certain Frédéric Antonetti who appreciated his daily investment in the work. He also played in the Europa League (4 matches) and contested in the final of the League Cup 2013.

Solid in the duels, he played a season with Kayseri Erciyesspor before joining Sivasspor in the summer of 2015. The center back is fast, he also demonstrates his ability to be decisive on set offensive shots with nine goals scored over the last three seasons.

With 62 appearances for the Black Stars, John Boye brings will add strong experience to his new team having played in the 2014 World Cup before being finalist of the Africa Cup of Nations in 2015.

In Moselle, John Boye returns to the French championship and his former coach, Frédéric Antonetti. Two elements that should allow the Ghanaian to quickly find his marks in his new formation.
