The Germans started strongly, applying steady, high pressure from the first whistle. Goals from Kane, Goretzka and an unfortunate own goal by Pulgar gave Bayern a solid lead, despite Flamengo's attempts to stay in the game.
Flamengo showed resilience and fighting spirit throughout. Gerson pulled one back with a thunderous strike, and Jorginho's composed penalty brought the Brazilians within touching distance of a comeback.
Encouraged by the goals, Flamengo pressed with energy and belief, but Neuer's crucial saves and Bayern's experience at the back kept them at bay. There were moments of high tension, with yellow cards for Thumb, Allan, Tah, Plata and Kimmich, and Pulgar being stretchered off added a sombre note to the contest.
Despite Flamengo's spirited response, Bayern never lost control. They managed the second half with composure, and fatigue began to show as the minutes ticked by. Kane's second goal from close range sealed the result.
