Ghanaian International Kevin Prince Boateng replicated his impressive start to the season for the Black and Greens with a first-half strike on Sunday evening.
Boateng’s 34th-minute strike in the first half leveled the score at 1-1 after Krzysztof Piatik’s 27th-minute strike found the back of the net to put Genoa up the score sheet.
Goals from K. P. Boateng, Pol Lirola, K. Babacar, Marco Ferrari and an Own goal by Nicholas Spolli ensured that Sassuolo carries all three points despite the three goals scored Genoa.
Sassuolo has 7 points out of three matches played and are second on the league table.
Kevin-Prince Boateng joined Italian side Sassuolo in July this year after his stint with German club Eintracht Frankfurt ended last season.
Boateng has not featured for Ghana since 2014 after he was sacked from the Black Stars camp amid disciplinary issues.
