LaLiga, the "Banega Case" at Sevilla: confidence in player's word

Every two or three days, Sevilla's sporting director Joaquin Caparros reads the latest transfer rumours most prominently regarding Ever Banega.

The Argentine has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal, which would see him reunite with former head coach Unai Emery.

However, Banega has made it clear that he wants to stay at Sevilla; they have his word and a move away would almost certainly be seen as betrayal.

Despite this, he would like to see an increase in his salary after becoming a key player since returning to the club in 2017.

The 30-year-old's family have adapted well to life in Andalusia and he remains a vital part of the team under Pablo Machin, so there is no immediate need to go anywhere.

At this time, the only departures that Sevilla want to see are that of record signing Luis Muriel, as well as Borja Lasso.
