LaLiga: Valencia's coach looks close to be sacked

It appears that Marcelino has ran out of lives at Valencia and is on the verge of losing his job.

The 2-1 defeat against Sporting Gijon, currently mid-table in the second tier, appears to have sealed his fate.

Although the club had considered keeping the coach until today's game against Real Valladolid at the Estadio Mestalla, the performance and defeat at El Molinòn has accelerated the decision.

Mateu Alemany called a press conference last Thursday in order to back the coach publicly but that will count for little if the decision from Singapore is to part ways with the tactician who has lost all of the credit that he built up last season.

Now the ball is in Peter Lim's court. The owner must make a final decision regarding the coach but all signs appear to point to an exit for Marcelino.
