Lazio and AS Roma played out a 0-0 draw in Serie A

After Roma's strong opening, Lazio had the finest opportunity when Luis Alberto struck the woodwork with a thunderous effort from beyond the area halfway through the first half. As a consequence, Roma moved up to seventh position with 18 points, three points outside the top four. Lazio, on the other hand, dropped to 10th place with 17 points, and manager Jose Mourinho expressed his satisfaction with the draw.

Eight players received yellow cards in what turned out to be another fierce clash in the 159th "Derby della Capitale" of Serie A, one of which was given to Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri for dissent. Roma put more pressure on the score in the first few minutes, but Romelu Lukaku's header from a cross went over the crossbar. Bryan Cristante's rebounded goal gave Mourinho's team the impression that they were up, but the goal was ruled out for offside.
