Liverpool's management has decided not to return to negotiations with Crystal Palace regarding the signing of English defender Marc Guehi during the upcoming winter transfer window, following the failure of his transfer on the last day of the summer transfer market.
According to The Times, Liverpool will not move to sign Guehi unless he leaves for free at the end of the season, as his contract with Crystal Palace expires in the summer of 2026, with the player refusing to sign a new contract.
Guehi, 25 years old, had passed the medical examination in preparation for his transfer to the Reds for £35 million, before Palace chairman Steve Parish backed out of completing the deal after failing to secure a replacement, which angered the player who expressed his desire to join the Premier League champions.
Liverpool currently has a sufficient number of defenders, especially after signing Giovanni Leoni from Parma.
