The goalie that AS Monaco has been searching for is now here. The club announced on Friday that Lukas Hradecky, 35, had signed a two-year contract. Born in Bratislava, Slovakia, the 35-year-old has played in the Bundesliga for more than 300 games, spending the previous seven seasons in goal for Bayer Leverkusen 04. The Leverkusen German Cup winner and 2023–24 Bundesliga champion has over 100 caps for Finland and has participated in all three of their Euro 2020 games.
This acquisition coincides with Les Monégasques' intention to transfer Radoslaw Majecki, 25, their former first-choice goalkeeper, to Stade Brestois for the season. With the aid of the Polish goalie, Monaco finished second in 2023–2024 and qualified for the UEFA Champions League group stage. On Saturday, August 16, Adi Hütter's team hosts Le Havre AC at Stade Louis II to kick off the new Ligue 1 season.
