Madrid hopeless with Alaba's recovery

David Alaba's recovery is not going as it should. The Austrian centre-back is not yet back in action and Real Madrid do not have a clear date for his return.

The Spanish side were confident of a speedy recovery for the Austrian centre-back, but unlike with Militao and Courtois, Alaba's cruciate fracture is not on the road to recovery, according to 'Relevo'.

Alaba has been back at the Valdebebas training complex since 15 July, but the recovery hasn't gone as expected. The La Liga side were expecting the Austrian to be back on the pitch, but that has not yet happened.

Real Madrid have a big problem in defence. The departure of Nacho has left a gap to fill and the non-recovery of David Alaba has left Carlo Ancelotti's backline with only Eder Militao and Antonio Rudiger, as well as Jesus Vallejo and Aurelien Tchouameni.
