Mallorca defeats Valencia to move into the top five of La Liga

Real Mallorca overcame a deficit to overcome Valencia 2-1 at home, moving them up to fifth place in La Liga. Valencia was still in the relegation zone after the loss, but soon after the half, they were given a penalty, which seemed to change their fortunes. VAR validated the on-field referee's ruling that defender Johan Mojica handled the ball inside the area, allowing Luis Rioja to slip the ball into the bottom corner for a 1-0 victory.

When Cyle Larin headed home Dani Rodriguez's cross in stoppage time at the end of the first half, the home team tied the score at the Estadi Son Moix. And nine minutes from the end, Mallorca took all three points as Abdon Prats headed home a cross from Sergi Darder to complete the victory.
