Manchester City have now made contact to sign Matheus Reis

Top European clubs consistently seek emerging talent from Brazil, demonstrating a willingness to make substantial investments in the nation's promising players. Real Madrid recently set the precedent by spending €70m (£61m) on signing Endrick from Palmeiras, while Manchester City is actively monitoring another Brazilian prospect, Estevao. Beyond Estevao, Manchester City has reportedly initiated contact with Fluminense for 16-year-old Reis, who has a €50m (£44m) release clause in his contract.

Despite this significant figure, England's premier clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool, are reportedly interested, with Manchester City warned of potential competition from Barcelona and Real Madrid. Notably, Reis, at just 16, is relatively unknown, prompting comparisons to the more recognizable Gabriel Jesus, a figure familiar to Manchester City fans due to his five-year stint at the Etihad Stadium. The Brazil international, scored 95 goals in 236 games for Manchester City and along the way won four Premier League crowns, one FA Cup, and four League Cups.
