Manchester City mounted unlikely 10-man comeback at Schalke

It was a night of twists and turnarounds in Gelsenkirchen as Manchester City came from behind after having an initial lead overturned to beat Schalke 3-2 in dramatic fashion.

Sergio Aguero put the Premier League champions ahead after just 18 minutes. The hosts' heads didn't drop though and Nabil Bentaleb levelled 20 minutes later from the penalty spot. But that wasn't it, either, as he converted another from 12 yards on the stroke of half time.

Nicolas Otamendi was shown a red card after receiving a second yellow, and City's hopes looked to be fading.

The game turned on its head in the dying minutes though and Leroy Sané equalised against his former club with five minutes of the 90 left. There was still time for another turn and it came courtesy of Raheem Sterling as he took advantage of some poor defending to steal a 3-2 win for City.
