Manchester United are ready to submit a €40m offer for Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi, according to multiple reports. The 23-year-old impressed last season with 18 clean sheets, and Gianluca Di Marzio recently revealed that Carnesecchi is the shot-stopper United “like the most.”
Initial contact has reportedly been made with the player’s agent, though Atalanta have yet to receive a formal offer. United are actively exploring goalkeeping options amid doubts over Andre Onana’s role as No.1 and with Altay Bayindir likely to leave. In addition to Carnesecchi, United have asked about one of his Atalanta teammates and are also monitoring Barcelona’s Marc-André ter Stegen, Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez, and Porto’s Diogo Costa. The club has already signed Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon, and remain in pursuit of Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo to strengthen Ruben Amorim’s squad.
