Napoli laboured to a 1-0 win at Empoli

The only goal Empoli has given up at home in the league this season, and Napoli's sole shot on goal over the full 90 minutes, was well finished by Kvaratskhelia in the 63rd minute of play. On Matteo Politano's 300th Serie A appearance, the Napoli winger was fouled by Tino Anjorin while standing on his foot inside the penalty area.

Elia Caprile denied Sebastiano Esposito's fierce volley, leaving Empoli to lament their wasted opportunities in the first half when they were clearly superior. In addition, Antonio Conte's team had to utilize his foot to thwart Giuseppe Pezzella's attempt in order to secure a grueling victory—their fourth consecutive triumph overall. Napoli now has 19 points, three more than Juventus, who is in second place. Empoli has ten points, ranking eleventh.
