Napoli was kept to a scoreless draw at home against Monza

In Serie A, Napoli was kept to a scoreless draw at home against Monza; nonetheless, the visitors may have lost if Matteo Pessina had converted a penalty kick in the second half. Napoli took control of the game after a fairly calm opening thirty minutes. Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa should have scored when he grabbed onto a cross from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, but he fired straight at Michele Di Gregorio. A minute before halftime, the Georgian ace came dangerously near to scoring for himself, but his shot would not curl into the far corner.

Monza had the better opportunity of the game early in the second half, as Amir Rrahmani missed a clear header from Piotr Zielinski's set-piece.The penalty was rather fortunate as Juan Jesus was unable to block Andrea Colpani's shot that struck him in the hand. Although Alex Meret saved the day, Pessina's meek kick was actually a rather simple stop.
