Newcastle are preparing a new bid for Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen as they push to finally land a much-needed attacking reinforcement this summer.
Their opening offer of around $68 million was rejected by Wolves yesterday, but talks between the clubs were described as positive, with Newcastle chiefs confident a deal can be struck soon. The Magpies are expected to return with an improved proposal, potentially raising the fee with add-ons to reach a package worth around $81 million, which they believe could be enough to seal the transfer. According to The Northern Echo, Newcastle now view Larsen as a more realistic target than Brentford’s Yoane Wissa. Newcastle’s pursuit of Strand Larsen is not connected to Alexander Isak’s situation. Instead, the Norwegian is viewed as a direct replacement and upgrade for Callum Wilson, who departed in the summer.
