Newcastle United had to settle for a 0-0 draw against 10-man Aston Villa after failing to take any chances without star striker Alexander Isak.
In the 66th minute, Konsa pulled Anthony Gordon to the ground after he had raced in behind the defence and looked through on goal, reducing the home team to ten. Without their star player, Isak, leading the charge, the Magpies' dissatisfaction had already been growing, but it got worse when they were unable to capitalise on their advantage at Villa Park. Due to the ongoing drama surrounding his transfer, the Sweden international was left out of the matchday squad.
