Newcastle United linked to Atletico Madrid and Chelsea stars

After the huge cash infusion, it should not be surprising to see Newcastle United go after stars even after their relegation status in the Premier League. But Magpies’ links to Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak is surprising, to say the least. Newcastle United wanted to bolster their goalkeeping options with the Slovenian international.

Oblak has been part of the Atleti squad since July 2014 and over the years has risen through the ranks to be known as one of the world’s most consistent goalkeepers playing in La Liga. That is not all Newcastle is also being linked to Chelsea forward’s Timo Werner who has caught the fancy of Dortmund as well. The German international is set to leave Blues this summer and Dortmund sees him as a Haaland replacement while Magpies wants to add more ammunition to their attacking squad.
