FC Barcelona announced through an official statement on their social media that Uruguayan centre-back Ronald Araujo has put pen to paper on a new six-year contract with the ‘Cules, which will see him committed to the club until 2031.
Ronald Araujo's last few weeks at Barcelona have been marked by uncertainty. Just when it looked like the Uruguayan centre-back wanted to end his time as a ‘Cule’ and start a new experience in Italy but the 25-year-old defender had decided to stay at the club.
After a meeting with director of reportivo Deco, Araujo decided that the best thing for him was to commit himself to the Catalan club for the long term and finally the ‘Cules’ announced on Thursday the renewal of one of their captains. Araujo thus puts pen to paper on a six-year contract with Barcelona, which means he will be committed to the club until 2031.
