Ruud van Nistelrooy's successful spell as United interim manager may have not been enough to convince Amorim to include him in his coaching staff, but it was certainly sufficent for Leicester to appoint him new head coach. The 48-year-old joins the Foxes just two weeks after he beat them twice while in charge at United - 5-2 in the Carabao Cup and 3-0 in the Premier League - taking over from Steve Cooper, who was dismissed earlier this week.
"I'm proud, I'm excited," he said after penning the contract - valid until June 2027. "Everybody that I speak to about Leicester City is enthusiastic. They have great stories about the quality of the people working at the club, the supporters and, of course, the recent history of the club is impressive. I'm excited to start and to get to know everyone and give everything I can for the football club."
