Oman to go against Bahrain in Arabian Gulf Cup

A 1-1 draw was achieved on Friday between Bahrain, the reigning champions, and Kuwait. However, Bahrain won Group B in spite of the draw, and they will now face Oman for a spot in the grand finals. On Monday, the 25th Arabian Gulf Cup semi-finals will pit two-time champions Oman against Bahrain.

In their final Group A encounter on Thursday, Oman had beaten Saudi Arabia 2-1 to secure the second rank in the group, trailing hosts Iraq. The hosts had defeated Yemen 5-0 to take the lead over Oman due to goal differences. Iraq and Qatar will now square off in the second semifinal. The victorious teams will compete for the prized trophy on January 19 after playing in both semi-finals on Monday.
