Painful loss 4-0 in Marseille for Ajax

Within fifteen minutes, Ajax had conceded two goals, both scored by Igor Paixão. John Heitinga’s team tried to regain composure, but struggled to keep Marseille away from their box. No real chances were created on Ajax’s side. After a simple ball loss from Ajax, Mason Greenwood hit the net: 3-0. The teams went into the dressing room at a 3-0 standing.

After the break, Ajax managed to get into the game a little bit more, but soon conceded another goal. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang converted a corner and found the net, 4-0 and confirmed a clear superiority of French team. Towards the end of the match, Ajax managed to create a few chances. Both Oscar Gloukh and Kenneth Taylor failed to get the ball in the net. Marseille kept Ajax at a safe distance for the remainder of the match without insisting so much in forward.
