Palmer: 'I have not yet returned to my best levels'

After a long absence due to a persistent thigh injury, Palmer scored a goal but admitted he is not fully recovered yet. "I can't say that I am at my best yet," he stated, noting the injury has significantly impacted his season.

He explained that working closely with club physiotherapists is helping him improve gradually by avoiding overtraining too quickly. "It's just step by step, day by day," he added. Scoring in his first home start in four months felt great, though regaining fitness remains his absolute priority.

Regarding the England national coach Thomas Tuchel’s attendance, Palmer remained grounded. "I wasn't thinking too far ahead," he revealed, citing his lengthy recent layoff. He emphasized his focus on getting back to full strength, knowing his potential contribution once he reaches peak condition.
