Paris Saint-Germain will have to wait a bit longer to win the championship

After defeating Saint-Etienne 6-1, Paris Saint-Germain came within striking distance of winning a record-tying 13th Ligue 1 championship. With seven games remaining, Monaco moved up to second position, 21 points behind PSG. This means that PSG just has to draw at home against Angers next Saturday to reclaim their title as French champions.

Zuriko Davitashvili's left-wing cross was headed in by Swedish striker Lucas Stassin, giving PSG an early lead. The 17th-place Saint-Etienne fell apart after the interval after Gonçalo Ramos equalized with a late penalty in the first half. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia fired PSG ahead, and Désiré Doué scored twice on either side of a João Neves goal. Ibrahim Mbaye, a 17-year-old replacement, scored his first goal for PSG in the 90th minute to secure the victory and complete the 6-1 rout.
