Parma is close to signing Philadelphia Union full-back Kai Wagner

According to Sky Sport Italia, Parma is close to signing Kai Wagner, a full-back for the Philadelphia Union, during the January transfer window. Originally from Germany, the 27-year-old left-back joined the Philadelphia Union in February 2019. He later made 169 appearances in Major League Soccer, scoring five goals and dishing out an incredible 37 assists.

Although Wagner's contract with the American team expires in December 2026 and may be extended for one additional year, it is generally anticipated that he will depart in January. Wagner has also drawn attention from Coventry City and Burnley FC in England, but Gianluca Di Marzio, a transfer analyst for Sky Sport Italia, claims that Parma is extremely close to sealing the deal. After a challenging start to the season, the Ducali, who were promoted from Serie B last summer, need reinforcements.
