Bayer Leverkusen are placing Spanish coach Raúl González on the list of candidates to take over the team's coaching position, following the dismissal of Dutchman Erik ten Hag, who was recently fired after just three matches at the helm of the coaching staff.
Raúl, the former coach of Real Madrid Castilla, is among the prominent names on Leverkusen's management table, alongside German Edin Terzić, former Borussia Dortmund coach, and Marco Rose, former Leipzig coach.
According to the newspaper, a final decision has not yet been made, taking advantage of the international break to conduct a comprehensive evaluation and avoid repeating the mistake of hiring Ten Hag.
Raúl has previous experience in the Bundesliga from his time as a player with Schalke, and he is highly regarded in Germany. Although he has received several offers in recent times, the circumstances have not been suitable to accept any of them.
