Real Madrid could face challenges in their pursuit of Rodri

A number of issues surrounding the midfield dynamo could make Rodri an unattainable goal for Real Madrid, according to Fichajes. The Spaniard is the kind of player Xabi Alonso is looking for, but it is extremely difficult to envision a major transfer to the Bernabeu given Manchester City's unwillingness to entertain a sale and other obstacles.

The fact that Rodri won the previous Ballon d'Or is sufficient evidence of his climb to prominence. He is now among the greatest in his position. The midfield player is gradually regaining his rhythm after missing the full season due to an ACL injury. Real Madrid have pondered signing Rodri back in the summer, as well as retaining an interest in the future. The Spanish giants were reportedly ready to make a big bid to test Manchester City’s resolve, although any deal will not be straightforward.
