An Argentine media report confirmed that Real Madrid has indeed finalized the contract with River Plate midfielder.
The Argentine network 'TyC Sports' mentioned that Real Madrid has already closed the agreement to sign the young player after strong competition with Paris Saint-Germain.
The source added that it remains to be seen whether the player will join Real Madrid this summer or wait until the next winter transfer window when he turns 18.
The source concluded that Xabi Alonso, the coach of Real Madrid, was a crucial factor in Mastantuono's arrival, as he personally communicated with the young player.
But like any big transfer, it's no simple handover. Real Madrid could technically trigger the infamous 45 million euro release clause.
