Real Madrid have a knack for moving on their younger players

Rafa Marin and Alex Jimenez, for example, departed Real Madrid permanently during the 2024 summer transfer window, demonstrating the club's propensity to let go of its younger players. Erik Vazquez is the next player who may join them, however his upcoming exit will only be on loan at first. Girona is reportedly nearing an agreement for Vazquez to join until the end of the season, according to Nil Sola (via ED). Despite struggling for playing time with Alvaro Arbeloa's U19 team during the current campaign, the adolescent is regarded as a very bright potential at La Fabrica.

Whether a purchase option of any kind is part of the deal for Vazquez is still up in the air. As they have done with several other young players in recent years, Real Madrid will surely try to keep the option to re-sign him or at the at least add a sell-on provision.
