Real Madrid secure Club World Cup semi-final spot after Dortmund victory

Real Madrid have booked their place in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup after beating Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-finals. Young talent Gonzalo García opened the scoring for Real in the 10th minute, finishing off a pinpoint cross from Arda Guler.

Ten minutes later, Fran García extended Madrid's lead, assisted by Trent Alexander-Arnold, consolidating their dominance. Beier pulled one back for the Germans to make the final minutes exciting, but a few minutes later Mbappe scored a bicycle kick to make it 3-1.

In stoppage time Huijsen was sent off after bringing down Guirassy and it was the same striker who made the final score 3-2. With this victory, Real Madrid qualify for the next round of the tournament, maintaining their objective of winning the title.

Next Wednesday, Xabi Alonso's side will face Paris Saint-Germain in an eagerly awaited semi-final clash. As for Mbappé, a challenge to dare.
