In Serie A, Roma and Juventus drew 1-1 on Sunday when Eldor Shomurodov of Roma neutralised a goal from Juve captain Manuel Locatelli in the first half.
Five minutes before halftime, Locatelli broke the tie for the visitors with a drive from beyond the area, and shortly after the interval, Roma replacement Shomurodov equalised off a rebound, hammering the ball in off the crossbar from close range. Last weekend, former defender Igor Tudor got off to a winning start with a 1-0 home victory against Genoa, but in his second game as manager, Juventus was held to a tie. After 31 games, Juventus is in fifth position with 56 points, tied with fourth-place Bologna, who will face second-place Napoli on Monday. With 53 points and no losses since late December, Roma is in seventh place in the league and has a chance to make it to the Champions League for the first time in seven years.
