Salernitana demoted from Serie A following loss against Frosinone

Salernitana has been relegated from Serie A after losing 3-0 against Frosinone. This season, the Salerno team won only two of 35 league games and finished at the bottom of the table. The win on Friday night was critical for Frosinone, which is one of at least seven teams fighting to stay away from one of the two spots in the second division next season alongside Salernitana.
Frosinone leads third-from-last Udinese by three points and second-from-last Sassuolo by five. Both teams still have a game in hand. Frosinone took the lead in the tenth minute when Matias Soule converted a penalty. Marco Brescianini extended their advantage 15 minutes later, and Nadir Zortea sealed the victory five minutes later with a low strike from 25 yards out.
