Toffees midfield crisis worsens with injury blow

Everton faces another big blow with two serious injury blows which limit their midfield options as they face Brentford and Newcastle next in the Premier League. Abdoulaye Doucoure left the Aston Villa clash mid-match at 65th minute in the 1-0 defeat at Goodison Park last Saturday. Doucoure picked up a groin injury would stay out of the lineup for a minimum of months' time.

The news comes right around the same time Fabian Delph has also been ruled out for four weeks with a thigh injury during training this week. Toffees were already without Tom Davies who injured his hamstring in December. The club was already shaken up when Rafa Benitez was dismissed after the underwhelming performance while Duncan Ferguson serves as caretaker for time being but Benitez’s successor would have to deal with the midfield injury crisis as soon as they take charge.
