Union Berlin will play host to Holstein Kiel as the relegation battles kick off

This afternoon, Union Berlin hosts Holstein Kiel in the Bundesliga as the 14th and 18th teams square off in a relegation battle at the bottom. FC Both teams are eager to win as Union Berlin hosts Holstein Kiel, who are at the bottom of the standings. With just two league victories since early November, Kiel is now eight points outside of the Bundesliga's safety zone. For their chances of survival, it's now or never.

However, history does not support them. In the Bundesliga, no team with 13 points or less has ever made it. Union may anticipate taking advantage of Kiel's defensive weaknesses while facing the league's poorest defense. Aljoscha Kemlein and Tom Rothe's goals helped Union win 2-0 in the rematch in October, although the Eisernen have their own issues.
