United retain interest in Palhinha

Mason Mount and Sofyan Amrabat have strengthened the Red Devils' midfield, but Erik ten Hag is still unsatisfied for the next campaign. Joao Palhinha of Fulham was one option the Dutch manager considered before deciding to focus just on Amrabat. Should Old Trafford have come calling, the Portugal international would have been eager to transfer there.

Palhinha had come to Germany to finalise a transfer to European powerhouses Bayern Munich, and had even gone so far as to complete his medical and media obligations. Despite all odds, Palhinha is still a Fulham player this season. The 28-year-old is still a possibility on United's shortlist for the upcoming transfer window. Whether Bayern would rekindle their interest is still up in the air, but the Reds might use Fulham target Scott McTominay to their advantage in a pitch.
