Venezia lost 2-0 to Genoa in Serie A

On Monday, Venezia lost 2-0 to Genoa in Serie A after giving up two goals in the final eight minutes, bringing their winless streak to eight games. Venezia is still in 19th position, two points above of last-place Monza and four behind Parma, having defeated Cagliari on December 22.

Nicolussi Caviglia and Kike Perez gave the home team a chance in the first half, but Genoa won the second half thanks to fantastic saves from Venezia custodian Ionut Radu that kept out Aaron Martin and Andrea Pinamonti. Maxwell Cornet, Genoa's on-loan striker from West Ham, clinched the points four minutes later by cutting in from the right and slotting home, but Pinamonti broke the tie with eight minutes remaining with a magnificent curling drive. Genoa moves up to 11th spot with the victory.
