Wales gets past Slovakia on Euro debut

The Welsh clashed against Slovakia this Saturday in what was the first match of Group B, Gareth Bale and company made their debut in the European Championship this year and they started in a fantastic manner. During the first half at Stade Matmut-Atlantique in Bordeaux, the team led by the Real Madrid star dominated during the first half. They created the most chances but left the possession to Slovakia.

Bale made his quick impact on the tenth minute of the match with one of them unpredictable free-kicks we all know him for. He struck the ball with his left foot in the same manner Cristiano Ronaldo does, he completely fooled the goalkeeper and the ball plunged through the middle of the goal. They left to half time with a slight advantage, but when they returned Slovakia managed to equalize the game within 15 minutes into the second half. Youngster Ondrej Duda scored his second ever goal with Slovakia at a crucial moment for his country.

The match got a little bit dirty and filled with fouls, but 20 minutes after the equalizer, Wales got their second goal thanks to Aaron Ramsey, who set up striker Robson-Kanu near the heart of the box and gave Wales the momentary victory. All Wales needed was to hold this result in order to earn their three points for this Group B's opening game. Gareth Bale responded with a goal, and puts Wales' hopes for doing something great at this tournament very much alive.
