Fiorentina, a team in Serie A, has expressed interest in signing West Ham custodian Alphonse Areola, but the Hammers would expect at least £8.6 million, according to Corriere dello Sport. Areloa, who competed against Fiorentina in West Ham's triumphant Europa Conference League final earlier this month, is apparently one of the Italian team's custodian targets, along with Timo Horn of FC Koln and Dominik Livakovic of Dinamo Zagreb.
Since the Frenchman's contract with West Ham won't expire until June 2027, Fiorentina will need to match the club's asking price to sign the former Real Madrid player. Goalkeepers of high calibre and dependability are hard to come by, but West Ham's acquisition of the former PSG shot-stopper gave them a trustworthy backup in goal. Areloa, who played in all 13 games of the competition while only giving up eight goals, was essential to West Ham's triumph in the Europa Conference League.
