Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitiké is a wanted man this summer. The Frenchman has been heavily linked with a transfer away from the Bundesliga club, but SGE are standing firm on their €100m price tag. As reported by The Telegraph, Newcastle United officials have contacted the entourage of Ekitiké, but the 23-year-old isn’t a replacement for Alexander Isak.
The Magpies want Ekitiké to partner Isak in attack as they make a third attempt to sign the French youth international. BILD further report that while Arsenal and Chelsea showed concrete interest in signing Ekitiké, their interest has cooled with Mikel Arteta’s side pushing for Viktor Gyökeres and Chelsea signing Liam Delap and Joao Pedro – Liverpool are also moving on to other targets.
A departure of Ekitiké remains a long way off and, as is well known, the Hessen club prove tough negotiators.
