Luca Gotti's Lecce had a great start in other games, defeating bottom team Salernitana 1-0 to snap a five-game winless skid and move four points clear of the relegation zone. Courtesy of an own goal by defender Norbert Gyomber, Lecce took the lead in the 17th minute and did not give Salernitana a chance to level the score. Salernitana remains 11 points from safety and appears to be headed to Serie B. A sensational free-kick four minutes before halfway secured Monza's 1-0 victory, leaving Cagliari two points above the relegation zone.
