Wout Weghorst’s double helps Wolfsburg defeat Frankfurt 2-1

Wolfsburg climbs to fourth place on the Bundesliga table with the help of a double goal clinched by Wout Weghorst. Defeating Frankfurt by 2-1 on Friday. The match looked like it was out of the hands of Wolfsburg when Bas Dost penalty was announced with just 15 minutes left on the clock, Maximilian Philipp later flipped the ball towards defender Stefan Ilsanker but Weghorst later fired onto the pole to put the ball past the goalkeeper Kevin Trapp in the 88th minute.

This win stretches their unbeaten run to 11 in the league and places itself above Borussia Dortmund with just two points behind Bayern Munich. While Frankfurt is placed ninth currently, They weren't able to realize all the opportunities created during the match the result would have been different if in the 55th minute Filip Kostic’s score would have made it in the goal.
