With no new communication between the forward and the Saudi Pro League and negotiations for a new contract having started with Real Madrid, sources have told ESPN that a move for Vinícius Júnior to the Saudi Pro League is now becoming less possible.
The Saudis initially contacted the player's representation last year, but Vinícius delayed making a choice until this summer because his Madrid contract was set to end in 2027. But according to individuals who spoke to ESPN, there hasn't been any communication with the Saudis since December 2024. According to reports, Saad Al Lazeez, the vice-chairman of the Saudi Pro League, was the former liaison between Vinícius' team and the league. However, in March of this year, Al Lazeez stepped down from his position at the SPL.
