Ahead of the Manchester Derby, Matheus Cunha provides a positive update
07.09.25 / 16:00
A week before the season's first Manchester derby, Manchester United player Matheus Cunha gave an encouraging social media update on his injury return. Prior to the international break, Cunha was substituted out of United's Premier League victory over Burnley in the first half. The Brazilian is thought to have suffered a hamstring injury.
After the 3-2 victory, the 26-year-old was seen walking freely out of Old Trafford, but he later pulled out of the Brazil squad for this month's World Cup qualifying matches. Cunha stated on social media that he will be "back soon”. On his Instagram story, the former Wolves star has now shared another update. He posted a picture of himself riding a gym bike with the caption, "The time is flying." His availability for the Manchester derby against Manchester City next week is still unknown.
