Speaking at a press conference in Rio de Janeiro, where he announced his latest Brazil squad, Ancelotti said he wanted to address the winger's reaction during the heated encounter between Real Madrid and Barcelona in La Liga.
"I spoke to Vinicius about his reaction," Ancelotti explained. "I told him what I thought — that he made a mistake. He understood, he apologised and I think the matter is resolved."
The Italian coach, who managed the 25-year-old during his spell at the Santiago Bernabeu, added that there are no lingering issues between the player and Xabi Alonso, his current coach in Madrid.
"There's no problem — not with the national team, not with his club, not with Xabi," he assured. "He's a very important player for us and we're very fond of him."
