Arsenal come from behind to claim victory at St James' Park

The Magpies struck first through Woltemade, who capitalised on a well-placed Tonali corner to give Newcastle the lead, despite Arsenal's sustained pressure.

Nick Pope was outstanding for Newcastle, keeping the Gunners at bay with a series of brilliant saves, denying efforts from Eze, Timber, and others. However, Arsenal's persistence paid off. Merino equalised with a powerful header from a Declan Rice cross, and later, Magalhaes fired a superb header to put Arsenal ahead, completing the comeback.

Arsenal dominated possession at times, with Saka and Rice delivering numerous set-pieces, though Newcastle's defence held firm for long periods.

Newcastle also suffered setbacks, with Livramento forced off on a stretcher and replaced by Lascelles. Tonali briefly left the field after a heavy knock but returned to continue his influential midfield performance.

Arsenal's victory demonstrates their determination and quality under pressure, setting them up as serious contenders this season.
