After Aston Villa moved to re-sign Jaden Philogene, the winger will hopefully be able to make the transition to Premier League football the following season. Villa received £5 million from Hull City for Philogene’s contract last summer, but they have already used the contract's "matching rights" option. Following Villa's match of Ipswich Town's £18 million bid earlier this week, the transaction would be valued at about £13 million after negotiating a 30% sell-on clause with Hull. The 22-year-old Philogene will now have a physical test with the team.
The former Villa striker Alan McInally is certain the player will succeed in the premier league and isn't shocked he chose Villa over the recently promoted Tractor Boys. Philogene already had wage parameters agreed upon with Villa in the transaction when he left. Philogene would have a bigger stage to play on with Villa, while Ipswich this season will participate in the Premier League, Aston Villa offers a chance to play in the Champions League football.
