There are rumors that Atlanta United has placed a new bid in an effort to recruit Aleksei Miranchuk, an Atalanta midfield player.
The 28-year-old attacking midfielder, who would instantly become a Designated Player (DP) and play for the Five Stripes in the starting lineup, looks to have come under closer scrutiny. Due to the departures of Thiago Almada to Botafogo and Giorgos Giakoumakis to Cruz Azul, Atlanta presently has two DP spots available. Early last week, GiveMeSport's Tom Bogert published reports stating that the 2018 MLS Cup winners had submitted an offer of around $10. Atlanta has reportedly made another approach for the Russia international, however it is unclear how much Atlanta is willing to pay, according to famous transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano. As Almada has left the club for Brazil, Miranchuk would fill an obvious need for the team that is led by interim head coach Rob Valentino.
